Toppers' Golden Rules

  • •Since the pattern is identical to UPSC CSE, standard UPSC preparation works perfectly — do not dilute quality.
  • •Your Optional Subject carries 500 marks out of 1750; target 280+ marks for an unassailable rank advantage.
  • •Domicile of Jammu & Kashmir UT is mandatory for eligibility.
  • •Master the J&K Reorganisation Act 2019 and recent administrative, industrial, and tourism initiatives.

Fatal Mistakes to Avoid

  • •Taking CSAT Paper 2 lightly; negative marking has tripped up numerous candidates in Prelims.
  • •Delaying Optional Subject preparation until after the Preliminary examination.
  • •Neglecting Jammu & Kashmir-specific historical and geographical questions in Prelims Paper 1.
  • •Failing to adhere to word count and time limits in the extensive 1750-mark Mains written exam.
